Job summary

Block Multifamily Group's Community Manager leads day-to-day operations of a multi-family property in Kansas City, focusing on occupancy, revenue, resident experience, and NOI by building a high-performing onsite team.

You will recruit, train, and coach staff, execute marketing strategies, monitor online reputation, oversee maintenance, ensure compliance with laws, and deliver timely reports to leadership. A valid driver's license and proficiency with Yardi and Microsoft Office are preferred.

  • Proven leadership experience in property management.
  • Strong knowledge of property management software (Yardi preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of landlord/tenant laws and fair housing regulations.

SUMMARYThe Community Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the property, including financial results, operations, leasing, marketing, and resident experience, by leading and developing a high-performing onsite team, while operating the community in the best interest of the owner.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperations & LeadershipLead and manage day-to-day operations of the community to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with company standardsRecruit, train, coach, and develop onsite team members to drive performance and engagementEstablish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for results and customer service standardsFoster a positive team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and resident satisfactionComplete required training courses and participate in ongoing professional developmentFinancial & Business PerformanceDrive occupancy, revenue, and Net Operating Income through effective leasing, pricing, and operational strategiesMonitor and analyze key performance indicators including occupancy, leasing trends, delinquency, and expensesManage accounts receivable, including rent collections, delinquency management, and eviction processes in accordance with applicable lawsOversee accounts payable, budgeting, and expense control to support financial goalsPrepare and deliver accurate and timely reporting to leadershipLeasing, Marketing & Brand PresenceOversee all leasing activities to ensure strong traffic, conversion, and closing performanceDevelop and execute marketing strategies, including digital marketing, social media, and outreach effortsEnsure the property’s online presence, listings, and reputation are actively managed and maintainedMonitor and respond to online reviews and customer feedbackConduct market research and competitive analysis to inform pricing and marketing strategiesResident Experience & Property OperationsLead resident retention and engagement strategies, including planning and supporting community eventsPromote a high level of resident satisfaction through responsive service and relationship buildingOversee property conditions, curb appeal, and unit readiness to maintain community standardsPartner with maintenance and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality service deliveryConduct regular property inspections and proactively address operational issuesQUALIFICATIONSProven experience in property management with leadership responsibilityStrong knowledge of property management software (Yardi experience preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Federal, State, and local landlord/tenant laws and fair housing regulations.Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Strong customer service orientation and managerial skills.
