Baltimore County Public Library is hiring for a Librarian role located in Towson, MD. You will assist customers, provide information, and support program delivery across ages, both in person and virtually.

You will plan outreach, manage events, and ensure smooth branch operations, while guiding patrons in using devices, catalog searches, and digital resources. Strong customer service and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and MLS pathway or LATI completion within specified timelines.
• Two years of customer service experience are required.
• Ability to use computers and various software to support duties.
• Must meet passport agent requirements for locations offering services.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and handle carts up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with diverse library needs—information, materials, and digital content.
• Plan and present programs and outreach events for all ages, in person or virtual.
• Coordinate location-specific activities and manage community engagement.
• Process materials, daily revenues, and prepare deposits; maintain shelves and displays.
• Guide customers to suitable materials and help with catalog searches and online resources.
• Support use of public computers and download digital content for patrons.
• Maintain branch operations, safety, and follow policies; act as librarian-in-charge when needed.
• Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders; update schedules as needed.
