Job summary

VOA Colorado in Denver is seeking a full-time kitchen worker to prepare and serve meals for a high-volume program. You will heat precooked meals, plate dishes with attention to quality, and ensure proper presentation for participants.

The role requires reading recipes, following production sheets, and maintaining food safety standards in a busy kitchen environment. Benefits include health and retirement plans and paid time off.

Qualifications

• One year related experience in cooking or similar production facility.
• Ability to read and write, following standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Ability to perform basic kitchen mathematical calculations.
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly during a daily shift.
• ServSafe certified or ability to acquire food safety certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares precooked meals from the ANS kitchen, ensuring they are heated to the proper serving temperature.
• Plates and serves meals—lunch and dinner—for a high volume of individuals.
• Plates and serves meals with a focus on high quality, ensuring excellent presentation and participant satisfaction.
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and strictly follows proper sanitation policies.
• Direct, train, or assist other kitchen employees, temporary workers, or volunteers as assigned.
