UCHealth University of Colorado Health is seeking a Health Education professional for an onsite, PRN role at Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, CO. The position involves mentoring, educating, and advocating personal health and wellness, with potential classroom and community presentations.

Responsibilities include cardiovascular health education, basic biometric screenings, and delivering group education on health topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider or Heartsaver CPR AED certification.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiovascular health and hands-only CPR education in classrooms or with families.
  • May perform heart health biometric screening (lipids, glucose via fingerstick, BP, height and weight).
  • Collaborate on development and implementation of health and wellness activities.
  • Deliver education on health topics including weight, stress management, risk prevention, and living with health conditions.
  • Provide assessment and coaching to help individuals develop health goals and lifestyle changes.
  • Evaluate and report on wellness program success and industry trends to guide initiatives.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Pay: $27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary
  • Serves as a mentor, educator, and advocate for personal health and wellness.
Responsibilities
  • Perform cardiovascularhealth andhands-only CPR education in 5th, 7th andhigh school classrooms or with families.
  • May performhearthealth biometric screening including lipids and glucose via fingerstick, blood pressure,height, and weight depending on skills.
  • Collaborates on the development and implementation of health and wellnessactivities that promote personal wellness.
  • Delivers general and specialized group educational opportunities on Health topics, including weight and stress management, risk prevention and reduction, and living with specific health conditions.
  • Provides assessment and coaching to individuals to help them develop and achieve Health goals, including personal empowerment, lifestyle changes, and behavior modification.
  • Evaluates and reports on the success of wellness programs based on participant satisfaction and Health outcomes. Provides guidance on wellness initiatives based on knowledge of industry trends, developments, and best practices.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
