UNC Health seeks a Community Health Consultant to bridge the community and the health system, supporting health engagement activities with community groups and executing health equity initiatives. The system Community Health Consultant serves as a liaison between the community and the healthcare system to support health engagement activities with community-based organizations and health equity action plan implementation. Working closely with department leadership and community partners, the consultant will catalogue, build, and execute health promotion programming. This role will also develop specific initiatives aimed at addressing social determinants of health. Under the direction of the Community Engagement Program Manager, the Consultant will assist in the development and implementation of the larger community health strategy to include program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides leadership, in a community setting to address local needs and concerns related to healthcare access, transportation, health literacy, and food insecurity. The Consultant will also assist with the development of social marketing campaigns.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree required
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Professional Experience Requirements: Minimum three (3) years' of experience in community engagement which should include: Minimum one (1) years' experience initiating and developing projects/programs/initiatives in a complex organization Minimum one (1) years' of training and facilitation experience Minimum one (1) years' experience working in healthcare industry
