Community Health in central Vermont seeks an Optometrist to deliver comprehensive eye care across multiple sites. You will perform eye exams, diagnose conditions, prescribe glasses and contacts, and provide pre- and post-operative care to patients.

The ideal candidate communicates well, stays current with optometry practices, and collaborates with ophthalmologists and primary care providers to coordinate patient care. Competitive salary and relocation support are offered.

Qualifications

• Conduct thorough eye exams to assess vision and detect ocular diseases.
• Diagnose and treat common eye conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
• Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses) and offer recommendations on proper use and maintenance.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery or treatments.
• Manage and monitor patients with chronic eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and lifestyle choices to maintain optimal vision.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to coordinate patient care.
• Stay informed on new advancements in optometry and implement best practices.
• Handle patient inquiries regarding insurance and billing for eye exams and vision correction products.
