Job summary

Mount Desert Island Hospital is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine physician to provide comprehensive primary care in office, hospital, nursing home and home settings. You will perform histories, exams, cancer screenings, and patient education while diagnosing and treating illnesses and coordinating care across teams.

You will also handle telephone follow-ups, stabilize emergencies prior to transport, and supervise physician extenders to ensure continuous patient care across all sites.

Qualifications

• Board Certification.
• Credentialed by the MDI Hospital Medical Staff to practice Family Medicine.
• Maintains membership in the Active Medical Staff at MDI Hospital in good standing.
• DEA certified.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care in office, hospital, nursing home and home.
• Perform history and physical examinations and cancer screenings.
• Educate patients and families; diagnose and treat presenting ailments.
• Provide telephone follow-up and stabilize emergencies prior to transport.
• Supervise and back up physician extenders in the office and hospital.
