Westfield Area YMCA in Cranford, NJ is seeking friendly Fitness Coaches to join our Health & Wellness Team. The role focuses on teaching safe exercise, offering modifications, and maintaining clean fitness spaces.

You will promote YMCA membership, work with a positive attitude, and help members reach goals while supporting the community. This position emphasizes reliability and customer service within a nonprofit wellness environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, EPI, Asthma and First Aid certifications required/renewable.
• General knowledge of fitness and safe exercise practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort communicating with members.

Responsibilities

• Instruct members how to safely and properly exercise, with or without equipment.
• Detect and correct unsafe exercises by offering appropriate modifications.
• Supervise and monitor cleanliness and appearance of fitness areas.
• Place malfunctioning equipment out of order and report per protocol.
• Promote YMCA membership retention with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
