Job summary

The City of Beaverton's Beaverton Police Department is seeking entry-level and lateral Police Officers to join our team, working hand in hand with our community to ensure a safe environment for all. Beaverton Police Department serves community members with compassion and respect through proactive crime prevention, law enforcement, and community engagement.

As a Police Officer, you will patrol assigned areas to deter crime, enforce laws, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Work skills and/or life experience relevant to a law enforcement career.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet the citys driving standards.
• 21 years or older at the time of hire.
• Must be a US citizen within 18 months of hire or a nonimmigrant legally admitted to the United States under a Compact of Free Association.
• Must never have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that reflects adversely on the capacity to serve as a police officer.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to deter crime, enforce laws, and respond to emergencies.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, issue citations, and make arrests as required.
