Job summary

Sistercare in Cayce, South Carolina, seeks a Community Engagement and Marketing Specialist to coordinate volunteer services, manage outreach, and craft newsletters and web posts. The role focuses on frontline community engagement and behind-the-scenes marketing activities to support services and operations.

The position requires public relations or marketing experience, excellent written and spoken communication, and flexibility for events and varying hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, public administration, behavioral science or a related field.
• Professional experience in a human service agency or nonprofit organization, or equivalent volunteer program experience.
• Public speaking experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
• Flexible work hours and reliable transportation with valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work in community settings and represent the organization.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, train, place, and supervise volunteers in Sistercare and community settings.
• Coordinate speakers’ bureau and community presentations led by volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer training and orientation about Sistercare and related issues.
• Plan and manage annual events and holiday/giving projects.
• Develop and maintain volunteer guidelines and manuals.
• Produce volunteer newsletter and assist with organization newsletters.
• Enhance community awareness via social media and the organization’s webpage.
• Input volunteer and engagement data into the organization’s database.
• Provide administrative support such as answering phones and greeting visitors.
