Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Community Engagement professional to develop and execute programs, build strategic partnerships, and track outcomes across healthcare communities.

You will manage relationships with community partners, compile data and reports, and represent the organization on committees and coalitions, while aligning initiatives with corporate social responsibility practices and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Public Relations, Public Health, Business or related field
  • 3 years experience in community relations, non-profit management, corporate giving or corporate responsibility
  • Familiarity with CSR programs and local community organizations
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel
  • Self-directed with strong time management and detail orientation
  • Ability to travel to Advocate locations and markets
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of defined community engagement programs from creation to implementation
  • Manage relationships with community partners and internal and external stakeholders
  • Track interactions and maintain community engagement tracking tools
  • Compile activity data and develop reports
  • Participate in meetings, events and community engagement initiatives
  • Provide regular updates, identify challenges and report on project plans
  • Collaborate with internal departments
  • Represent Advocate Health on internal and external committees and coalitions
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with elected officials, nonprofits, corporate partners, public health officials, and foundations
  • Assess and recommend appropriate funding levels and engagement opportunities
  • Communicate and prioritize programs
  • Make recommendations regarding community investment opportunities
  • Identify healthcare and engagement trends
  • Support management in developing Advocate Health's Community Engagement strategy
  • Report on programs using defined KPIs
  • Retrieve, test, measure and evaluate research insights to assess campaign effectiveness
  • Reinforce the organization’s brand identity through community engagement efforts
  • Develop measurable KPIs with leadership

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Public Health, Business or related field
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in community relations, non-profit management, corporate giving, or corporate responsibility
  • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility programs, local community organizations, programs, and nonprofit groups
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel skills
  • Self-directed with excellent time management and detail orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Adaptability based on changing needs of the organization
  • Requires reading, comprehension, and editing materials
  • Requires clear and effective communication
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various Advocate locations and markets
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
