Description/Responsibilities

SilverSneakers Community Engagement Representatives are independent contractors who leverage their professional experience to support Tivity Health within a designated territory. Responsibilities include event coverage, speaking engagements, fitness workshops, demonstrations, and increasing SilverSneakers brand awareness.

Employment Status: Independent Contractor

Location: Detroit, MI (must reside in the Detroit area)

Hours: Contractual, approximately 5 hours per month, fluctuating based on business needs

Position Summary:

• Collaborate with Tivity Health’s Regional Growth Managers (RGMs) to promote SilverSneakers with professionalism and integrity.
• Provide excellent service to program members, including information sharing and product demonstrations.
• Participate in community events, engaging with older adults to grow brand awareness and program participation.
• Support event logistics, including setup and teardown of tables/booths.
• Lead speaking engagements for various initiatives.
• Support virtual events as needed.
• Identify and communicate opportunities with clients and partners to RGMs.
• Maintain records of communications and report expenses accurately.
• Track event attendance and enrollment metrics, providing feedback.
• Optional: Lead 5–15 minute fitness demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Complete SilverSneakers teaching criteria, including fraud, waste, and abuse training.
• Current CPR certification (if leading demos).
• Experience in fitness, wellness, health, nutrition, or senior services.
• Event experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, virtual training tools, and internet access.
• Strong organizational and instructional skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Spanish, Korean, or Chinese is highly desirable.

Pay rate: $40/hour
