Union County is seeking a Community Engagement & Health Educator to deliver health education and outreach, building relationships between Union County Human Services and the community, and representing the department at events such as health fairs and coalitions.
The role supports other divisions, assists in community health assessments, plans and implements programs, and promotes health education through digital channels.
The Community Engagement & Health Educator, under general supervision, provides health education and awareness to community members and community organization; builds relationships between Union County Human Services and the community at large; and represents Union County Human Services at outreach events such as health fairs, community events, and coalitions. Supports the other Human Services divisions to carry out their education and outreach objectives. Assists in preparing community health assessments and reports.
Plans, develops, and implements health programs for Union County Human Services.
Attends health fairs, community events, and outreach activities to provide health education and promote public health services and awareness.
Participates in coalition meetings to strengthen community partnerships, identify resources, and monitor health needs.
Promotes health education through digital and public communication channels.
Supports and promotes other division/departmental health and program initiatives.
Assists with assessing community health needs and supports activities related to the Community Health Assessment.
Promotes Union County Human Services programs, events, and other community events/outreach opportunities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position may be subject to a fingerprint background check. Mustbephysicallyabletooperateavarietyofmachineryandequipmentincluding,typewriters,calculators,copiers, telephones, fax machines, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
