Job summary

Center for Transforming Lives is seeking a Communications Coordinator to manage social media, communications and marketing to raise awareness and strengthen community engagement. You will create engaging social media materials, write copy for newsletters, press releases and promotional materials, and help build partnerships with local groups to secure speaking engagements that raise awareness and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in a communications/PR, marketing or related role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in digital content creation on multiple social media platforms; Canva, Mailchimp and Adobe Suite a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with internal teams including participants to tell the story of Center for Transforming Lives through posts, appeals, graphics, photography and video for social media, newsletters and other promotional materials.
• Maintains social media sites and responds to comments, messages and inquiries from social media followers and general public in a timely and professional manner.
• Assists with writing social media captions, press releases, newsletter content and other promotional materials.
• Assists with building and maintaining relationships with local community groups, churches, civic organizations and professional networks to cultivate a robust pipeline of speaking engagements
• Plans, coordinates and supports speaking engagements
• Supports all departments in marketing and communication efforts.
• Assists in ensuring that all promotional and marketing materials meet the organization's brand identity strategy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
