Job summary

The City of Hartford is hiring Police Officers to perform law enforcement duties protecting lives and property, and public service tasks within the community.

Open to P.O.S.T. certified CT officers with at least two years experience and no more than three years of separation; requires valid CT driver’s license and successful medical and background checks. Residency in Hartford preferred.

Qualifications

• Must pass medical examination.
• Background investigation including polygraph.
• P.O.S.T. Certification must be current at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform law enforcement duties to protect life and property and prevent crime.
• Respond to public service calls and assist the community.
• Work a 40-hour week on a shift rotation including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain qualifications and participate in testing and recruitment processes.
