Job summary

City of Philadelphia seeks an Operations Manager for the Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity. The role oversees risk and safety, IT, and fleet workflows, ensuring operations run in line with city rules and funder requirements.

The successful candidate will lead the department’s fleet, inventory controls, and safety committee while coordinating with the Office of Information Technology and other units to deliver reliable support services and equity-driven outcomes for Philadelphia

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, information technology, computerscience, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or operations and supervising teams or overseeing IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, and telecommunications.
  • Project management certification or demonstrated experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement risk and safety, IT and Fleet management workflows.
  • Ensure internal operations comply with city rules and funder requirements.
  • Manage and monitor the department’s fleet and vehicle usage.
  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory tracking and asset management.
  • Chair a compliant Safety Committee and ensure safety reporting.
  • Foster teamwork and support-first mindset across units.
  • Oversee office telephony and mobile device support per IT policies.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and liaise with OIT.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

Manage and implement riskandsafety, IT and Fleet management workflows to meetobjectivesset bythe Deputy Executive Director of Operations.

Ensure that the internal operations of the office are running efficiently and in line with both City rules and regulations as well as funder requirements.

Manage andmonitorthe department’s fleet of vehicles, including planned maintenance and staff usage.

Ensure that the agency hastimelyandaccurateinventory tracking to meet asset management and quality controls of the organizationsprocuredgoods.

Ensure that the agency hastimelyandaccurateSafety Reporting andmanage and serve as chair of a compliant Safety Committee in life with City rules and risk aversion.

Build teamwork and support-first mindset for the Operations unit while upholding agency policy and procedures for effective support services equitably across all units and employees.

Manage the office telephony program including mobile device support and distribution in line with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) policies and protocols.

Troubleshoot issues and errors experienced by theOperations unit or operational-related issues within any unit as they arise.

Liaise with the OIT regularly.

Other duties as assigned.
