Job summary

Stillwater Area Public Schools is seeking a Community Education Preschool Classroom Assistant to support a preschool classroom from Monday to Thursday (4.5 hours per day) and Friday (6.5 hours, totaling 24.5 hours per week). The role assists the teacher in delivering activities and maintaining a safe, caring environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with comfort getting up and down from the floor.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred candidate should have background in child development, child guidance, human relations, communications or recreational programming.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in a preschool classroom.
• Support learning activities and maintain a safe, engaging environment.
• Help students with routines, transitions and on-floor activities.

Educational/Experience Requirements

• Desired candidate should have background/training in one or more of the following areas: child development, child guidance, human relations, communications and recreational programming.

Dependent upon building location and work is only on student contact days.
