Job summary

Montgomery is seeking a qualified professional to advance community economic development by forging partnerships between the city, nonprofits, and private sector. The role emphasizes building neighborhood-level initiatives, analyzing economic and community issues, and developing strategies in community building, place orientation, business development, and workforce development.

A Bachelor's degree and four years' experience are required. Master’s may substitute for two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in community planning, urban/city/regional planning, or a related degree.
• Four years of community economic development/project management experience.
• Master's degree in a related field can substitute for two years of experience.
• Qualifying education, training and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop opportunities for cooperation and collaboration between the city and various stakeholders.
• Study economic and community issues, concerns, and best practices.
• Develop and facilitate the implementation of community economic development strategies in area of community building, place orientation, business orientation, and workforce development.
