Qualifications

• Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commission certification required with at least 12 months patrol experience.
• Must provide proof of Good Standing with Current Agency.
• U.S. Citizen
• High School graduate; 60+ college credit hours preferred
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Successfully complete Background and Selection Process

Responsibilities

• Enforce local, state, and federal laws to protect life and property
• Patrol assigned areas to deter crime and ensure public safety
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
• Investigate crimes by collecting evidence and interviewing victims and witnesses
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records
• Make arrests and issue citations when appropriate
• Enforce traffic laws and respond to traffic accidents
• Provide assistance and support to individuals in crisis situations
• Engage with the community to build trust and promote crime prevention
• Testify in court and work with prosecutors and other justice partners
• Uphold departmental policies, ethical standards, and professional conduct
