Job summary

The City of Golden Valley Police Department seeks community-focused leaders to join our team. Begin with a two-week academy and a five-phase field training program, with a broad range of specialized opportunities and fully supported growth within a 24/7 department.

We offer a $20,000 recruitment and retention incentive for eligible officers hired between May 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026, plus comprehensive benefits, education incentives, and multilingual pay.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Successful completion of FTO and currently licensed patrol officer.
• Minnesota POST Board license eligibility or current license.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with the community.
• Participate in community outreach and education initiatives.
• Patrol assigned areas by car, bike, or on foot; enforce laws and ordinances.
• Apprehend and document crimes and incidents; prepare detailed reports.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with other agencies as needed.
