The City of Shoreview, MN is seeking an Intern to support the Community Development Department with a focus on economic development and planning. The position will assist in advancing initiatives that promote business growth, community vitality, and strategic planning for Shoreview's future development.

Qualified students or graduates will bring strong communication and customer service skills, with interest in urban planning, housing, and economic development.

Qualifications

• Degree or current enrollment in economics, urban planning, housing, public administration or related field.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word (Microsoft Office).
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license and satisfactory MVR.

Responsabilités

• Assist with implementing the EDA work plan including housing, economic development and business retention.
• Develop communication materials to promote City programs and events to local businesses.
• Support BRE program and enhance business outreach and relationships with the local community.
• Assist with planning and zoning functions and processing applications.
• Update the City’s Business Inventory, databases, maps and mailings.
• Help plan and promote workshops and events related to housing and business development.
