Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is hiring a Human Services Specialist for the Crime Prevention Unit within the Fort Worth Police Department. You will engage communities, deliver crime prevention education, and produce materials like child ID cards and fingerprints.

You may travel to events using a City vehicle and support safety partnerships with neighborhoods. Minimum qualifications include a psychology/social work bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ interview/eligibility experience, plus a valid license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Two years of interviewing/eligibility assessment experience in social services or related program.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and organize the Annual Central Division Safety Fair and National Night Out events.
• Develop and perform crime/safety presentations to citizens and community groups.
• Create and distribute a monthly newsletter to division personnel and community stakeholders.
• Collect, organize and maintain an inventory of crime prevention materials for events.
• Work with Neighborhood Patrol Officers to be a visible presence at events to promote safety partnerships.
• Identify opportunities for community engagement and independently coordinate activities and follow-up.
