Job summary

Anoka County in Minnesota is seeking a Work Release Officer to support the Community Corrections division. You will monitor and escort inmates, transport them to obligations, and respond to emergencies while upholding safety and facility rules.

This is a full-time, on-site role with advancement opportunities and a competitive pay range. Position requires a high school diploma; preferred degree in Criminal Justice.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and must be 21+ by hire date.
• Preferred: degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with challenging individuals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe custodial intakes and complete release procedures.
• Supervise inmates and maintain facility rules and security.
• Respond to emergencies, de-escalate conflicts, and escort inmates to appointments.
• Transport inmates between facilities and the courthouse; monitor off-ground movements.
• Conduct searches, urinalysis, and other safety-related procedures.
