Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Security Monitor I, Community Corrections in Corpus Christi, TX to supervise facility populations and maintain safety and order in a residential setting.

You will conduct resident counts and searches, assist with intake/discharge, support emergency responses, and help ensure a secure environment for residents, staff, visitors, and the facility. High school diploma or GED required; drivers license and willingness to work any shift preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Experience in operations of a correctional facility preferred.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally and solve problems.
• Must be available to work any hours, any shift.
• Must complete pre-service and other training programs as required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the facility population to maintain safety and sanitation.
• Monitor resident population and report suspicious activities or policy violations.
• Conduct counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches; perform drug/alcohol testing as directed.
• Process residents for intake/discharge per policies and procedures.
• Assist with resident worker activities and ensure quality of work performed.
