Community Communications Intern Role Description

(Up to 10 hours per week,Paid internship| Grant-Funded)
Location: In-Person | Philadelphia
Program: Tiny Essentials Relief Hub
Bilingual Preferred

Compensation: $1,000 stipend


Position Overview

The Community Communications Intern is a paid, time-limited internship supporting Linked Family Services’ outreach and storytelling related to the Tiny Essentials Relief Hub. This role focuses on capturing and sharing moments from Relief Hub days, supporting social media engagement, and assisting with the preparation and distribution of community newsletters.

This internship runs from January through June 2026 and is designed for students or early-career individuals interested in community-based service, family support, or nonprofit operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take photos and short videos during Relief Hub service days
  • Support Instagram stories and basic social media content
  • Draft captions and short written content for review
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of monthly newsletters
  • Organize photos and content for internal use
  • Support community-centered and prevention-focused messaging
  • Follow branding, privacy, and consent guidelines

Schedule & Time Commitment

This internship requires a time commitment of approximately 8–10 hours per week. Some weeks may be lighter or heavier depending on Relief Hub activities.

Interns must be available for occasional in-person attendance during public Relief Hub service days to capture photos or content.

Relief Hub Public Schedule

Mondays: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Thursdays: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Fridays: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Occasional Saturdays: Community events (with advance notice)

Compensation & Internship Terms

  • This is a paid internship
  • Interns will receive a $1,000 stipend for the duration of the internship
  • Internship period: January – June 2026
  • Expected time commitment: approximately 8–10 hours per week
  • Stipend payments will be issued in two installments:
    • 50% in March 2026
    • 50% in June 2026 upon completion of the internship period
  • This position does not include employment benefits
