Job summary

WHYY is seeking an entry-level street team member to support brand awareness and public engagements in the Philadelphia region. This role involves representing WHYY at events, distributing materials, and engaging with community members to promote WHYY’s programming and memberships.

You will work per diem at various locations, coordinating with the team to maximize outreach and ensure a positive, informative experience for the public.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills; active listening; ability to respond effectively.
• Brand knowledge of WHYY or willingness to learn.
• Time management and scheduling; meeting outreach goals.
• Adaptability to different locations and audiences.
• Basic email, email-sending, and iPad usage.
• Team coordination to achieve engagement goals.

Responsibilities

• Creating/Increasing WHYY Brand Awareness – Generating excitement through word of mouth marketing and live engagements.
• Promotions & Outreach – Distributing programming cards, QR codes, events notices and other materials at high-traffic areas.
• Engaging with the Public – Educating people on WHYY’s objective and mission with a personal touch.
• Driving Attendance, Memberships and Participation – Encouraging event attendance and program memberships.
• Gathering Feedback – Collecting public opinions to shape future WHYY campaigns.
• Serve as the first contact between WHYY and the public, answering questions and sharing information.
