Job summary

Community Support Services in Akron, OH seeks a Residential Aide to support residents in community-based and residential settings. This hands-off role focuses on training, skill-building, and adherence to individualized service plans.

You will help with daily living tasks, monitor medications, transport to activities, and collaborate with supervisors to promote recovery-centered care. A HS diploma and driving license are required; compassion and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience with emotionally impaired or developmentally disabled preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse challenged.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA rules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one programming on specified plans and progress notes.
  • Assist residents with daily living skills and social activities.
  • Monitor medication self-administration per agency procedures.
  • Transport residents to daily activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with Site Supervisor on resident issues.
  • Redirect residents to maintain safe, respectful environments.
  • Support crisis resolution using least restrictive interventions.
