Job summary

Comcareme seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide peer-based support to youth using the Peer Connect curriculum across office, home, and community settings. The role includes training to Maine Peer Connect certification, offering youth-centered referrals, and coordinating workshops with the YPSSN team.

The position requires travel across the region, including rural areas, excellent documentation of contacts within 24 hours, and active participation in meetings and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Attend Peer Connect training to become Maine Peer Connect certified within the agency's timeline.
• Demonstrate understanding of core competencies by the Federal SAMHSA.
• Provide one-on-one peer support to youth using the Peer Connect curriculum.
• Travel across the region to deliver services including rural areas.
• Link youth with resources and assist with referrals and accessing services.
• Maintain office hours during drop-in times at various office locations.
• Coordinate workshops and educational opportunities as part of the YPSSN team.
• Document all contact attempts within 24 hours after case assignment.
• Document all one-on-one contacts with youth within 24 hours.
• Record YPSSN activities (groups, workshops, etc.) on the tracking tool.
• Assist with disseminating youth surveys upon request.
• Participate in agency meetings and supervision sessions.
• Support youth in educational/vocational goals and link with MV Liaison or employment services.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
