Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Part Time Peer Support Specialist to provide direct support and skills training to individuals with mental health concerns. The role emphasizes collaboration with families, community supports, and integrated care across community and hospital settings.

The position requires CPI training within 60 days and may involve working with diverse populations including youth and adults. Strong communication, transportation coordination, and data documentation are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field.
  • Life experience in mental and/or behavioral healthcare.
  • Experience with healthcare systems and multicultural communities preferred.
  • Experience with mental health clients independently in healthcare settings preferred.
  • Requires CPI training within 60 days.
  • Spanish language competency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in weekly case reviews and collaborative treatment planning.
  • Assist peers in identifying self-help groups and long-term peer support.
  • Teach problem-solving techniques to individuals and groups.
  • Monitor and follow-up on service plans via telephone and home visits.
  • Educate individuals about self-care and healthy habits.
  • Coordinate transportation to appointments as needed.
