Job summary

Progressive Directions, Inc. (PDI) is hiring compassionate, dependable Job Coaches for the Employment and Community First CHOICES program in Buchanan, Tennessee.

You will work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to pursue and maintain community employment, providing hands-on support to foster independence and confidence. Applicants should be at least 18, have strong communication skills, and be able to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age and able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in employment services, job coaching, education, caregiving, or disability services is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication, patience, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
• Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.
• Ability to complete required background checks and drug screening.
• Flexibility to work different days and hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized coaching at community-based job sites.
• Help people learn job duties, routines, and employer expectations.
• Model appropriate workplace behavior, attendance, and professionalism.
• Encourage independence and reduce support as skills improve.
• Identify and address barriers to workplace success.
• Communicate professionally with employers, families, and management.
• Support development of positive relationships with coworkers and supervisors.
• Assist with transportation or travel training as assigned.
• Complete required service documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow individualized plans, employment goals, and support strategies.
• Protect rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of the people supported.
