POSITION SUMMARY

The Qualified Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing collaborative mental health services to children and families and adults with mental illness in various settings, such as home, school and the office. Service population assigned is based on approved credential. Provide services as part of a treatment team, to individuals with mental health concerns who have significant functional impairments and the ability to perform services on an intensive basis by utilizing short-term, solution focused treatment strategies.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Provides individual, couples, group counseling, in-school behavioral intervention, parenting education, life skills education, and recreational and fitness guidance relative to personal and social problems.
• Maintains up-to-date files on clients.
• Collects demographic data to maintain statistics on center usage and client services.
• Acts as liaison between client and community resources as needed.
• Accurately and effectively collaborates with community agencies to ensure the best treatment provided to youth and families.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Human Services or a related field of study. Experience: Completion of bachelor degree and registered as QMHP-T
• Computer Skills: Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment.
• Certificates & Licenses: Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee (QMHP-T) approved by VA Board of Counseling
• Other Requirements: Performs other duties as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
