Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our Community-based Adult Day Health Service Program in Central Islip.

You will plan and conduct group and individual recreation activities, document attendance and participation, and complete all required paperwork under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Minimum 2-years experience in the field of Therapeutic Recreation.
• Working knowledge of the physical, psychological and behavioral needs of the registrants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct group and individual recreation programs assigned by the Recreation Supervisor.
• Document program attendance participation.
• Complete assigned paperwork and all other job tasks assigned by the Recreation Supervisor.
• Other duties as required.
