Job summary

The City of Riverdale is seeking a capable supervisor to plan, organize, and oversee a diversified athletics, games, and sports program for various age groups. You will supervise part-time, temporary, and voluntary staff and coordinate facility usage and program goals.

Responsibilities include directing staff, scheduling activities, and collaborating with the community to ensure successful events and compliant operations. Occasional evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of directing group, social and recreational activities.
• Knowledge of managing recreational programs for parks, centers, aquatic centers, or athletic facilities.
• Knowledge of equipment and supplies for athletic programs.
• Knowledge of good public relations practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, evaluate, and coordinate athletic activities and scheduling facilities.
• Direct and supervise part-time and volunteer staff, assign workloads.
• Develop goals, objectives, policies, and work standards for recreation areas.
• Monitor day-to-day operations of activities, visit sites, resolve complaints, ensure materials.
• Create program plans and schedules for seasonal activities.
• Oversee maintenance of recreational supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with local communities and civic groups on recreational issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
