The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) at Iowa State University is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop web and social media content, success stories, and newsletters. You will translate research findings into producer-focused information for pork producers and related audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Science-related degree preferred.
  • Experience in website development and content creation considered a plus.
  • Experience in developing short communications (i.e. infographics, fact sheets) preferred.

Job Description

The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) provides swine producer education and outreach based on university research and producer needs. The Communication Specialist will support these efforts by creating web and social media content, success stories, monthly newsletters, and other communication materials that translate research findings into practical, producer-focused information. The position will work closely with faculty, researchers, and industry stakeholders to communicate scientific information in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner for pork producers and other audiences.

The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) provides research-based education and outreach to pork producers and industry stakeholders. By connecting university research with producer needs, IPIC develops and delivers practical resources, training, and educational programs that support a sustainable and innovative swine industry.
