We are seeking a professional, strategic, and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to join our team on a full-time contract basis. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering clear, engaging, and consistent internal and external communications that support organizational objectives, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance brand and corporate messaging.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience developing communications across multiple channels. This individual should be comfortable working with cross-functional teams, managing multiple communications initiatives, translating complex information into clear messaging, and ensuring communications align with organizational standards and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, write, edit, and distribute internal and external communications, including announcements, newsletters, presentations, reports, and organizational updates.

Develop communication strategies and messaging aligned with business objectives, organizational priorities, and stakeholder needs.

Collaborate with leadership, marketing, human resources, operations, and other departments to identify communication requirements and develop effective messaging.

Translate complex business, technical, operational, or organizational information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate communications.

Manage communication calendars, schedules, deadlines, and distribution plans across multiple initiatives.

Draft executive communications, leadership announcements, employee updates, talking points, briefing materials, and presentations.

Support internal communication initiatives designed to improve employee engagement, organizational alignment, and information sharing.

Create and maintain communication materials, templates, messaging guidelines, FAQs, and other communication resources.

Coordinate communications for organizational initiatives, business changes, projects, programs, and special events.

Review and edit written materials for accuracy, clarity, tone, grammar, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards.

Develop content for digital communication channels, including email, intranet, websites, newsletters, collaboration platforms, and social media when applicable.

Support the development and execution of communication campaigns and engagement initiatives.

Work with subject‑matter experts to gather information, validate content, and ensure communications accurately reflect business activities and objectives.

Monitor communication effectiveness and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

Track communication metrics, engagement data, distribution results, and other performance indicators when applicable.

Conduct research and stay informed about communication trends, audience preferences, digital communication practices, and industry standards.

Coordinate with creative, design, marketing, and digital teams to ensure visual and written communications are consistent and effective.

Support change‑management communications associated with new initiatives, systems, policies, organizational changes, and business processes.

Maintain organized communication files, content libraries, contact lists, templates, and supporting documentation.

Assist with crisis, urgent, or time‑sensitive communications as needed.

Ensure communications comply with organizational policies, brand standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulations.

Prepare communication reports, presentations, executive summaries, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.

Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, accuracy, deadlines, and consistent messaging.

Contribute to continuous improvement of communication processes, tools, templates, and engagement strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in communications, corporate communications, public relations, marketing communications, internal communications, content development, or a related discipline.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to grammar, tone, clarity, and detail.

Demonstrated ability to develop clear, engaging, and audience‑appropriate communications for different stakeholder groups.

Experience writing and editing professional communications, reports, presentations, newsletters, announcements, and digital content.

Strong understanding of communication planning, content development, stakeholder engagement, and messaging strategies.

Ability to translate complex information into concise and understandable communications.

Strong organizational and project‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, subject‑matter experts, and cross‑functional teams.

Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling confidential, sensitive, or time‑critical information.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Familiarity with digital communication platforms, content‑management systems, intranet tools, collaboration platforms, email marketing systems, or social media platforms is an advantage.

Experience with graphic design, content‑management, or communications tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, SharePoint, or comparable platforms is a plus.

Strong proofreading, editing, research, and information‑gathering abilities.

Experience supporting change‑management, employee engagement, corporate communications, or organizational initiatives is preferred.

Relevant certifications or professional development in communications, public relations, digital marketing, change management, or a comparable discipline are a plus.

Compensation & Contract Details

Annual Contract Rate: $90,000 – $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, communications expertise, and scope of responsibility.

Employment Type: Full-time Contract.

Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Contract Term: Initial contract assignment with potential for extension or renewal based on business needs, communication requirements, and performance.

Work Arrangement: Remote or hybrid, depending on organizational and project requirements.
