Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Chicago seeks a Communications Specialist to support the Global Communications & Media team in driving regional PR, brand awareness and product storytelling across North America. You will write customer stories, create press content and pitch media for both public safety and commercial markets.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of professional communications experience, a strong portfolio, and familiarity with media monitoring, outreach campaigns and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional communications, public relations, or media experience (agency or corporate context preferred).
• Demonstrated portfolio of exceptional corporate writing samples (press releases, pitch letters, customer features, articles).
• Proven exposure to media relations execution, media monitoring and outreach campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Portfolio Communications Support: collaborate with North America Communications Team on regional PR campaigns and product launches.
• Customer Storytelling: uncover and write customer stories across NA to illustrate impact of Motorola Solutions’ tech portfolio.
• High-Impact Content Creation: write press releases, features, media pitches, briefings and social copy.
• Media Relations Execution: pitch media, manage lists, coordinate interviews and track coverage.
• Measurement & AI: oversee media tracking, analytics, and AI-enabled workflows for faster research and drafting.
• Event & Trade Show Support: assist PR logistics and content amplification for NA events and summits.

This position may span both public safety and commercial enterprise markets, supporting product communications, customer storytelling, media relations execution and content creation. ***Scope of Responsibilities**** Cross-Portfolio Communications Support: Partner closely with the North America Communications Team to support regional PR campaigns, product launches and thought leadership across both public safety and commercial enterprise business units.* Customer Storytelling: Uncover, research and write compelling customer stories that bring to life the real-world impact of Motorola Solutions’ technology portfolio across North America.* High-Impact Content Creation: Serve as a primary writer for a wide variety of public-facing materials, including press releases, news features, media pitches, spokesperson briefing docs and social media copy.* Media Relations Execution: Pitch regional, tech, and industry trade media, build and manage targeted media lists, coordinate interview logistics and track journalist coverage.* Measurement, Monitoring & AI Workflows: Oversee daily media tracking, campaign analytics, and sentiment coverage reports.
