• Advise senior leaders on messaging, audience engagement, and best practices.
• Build and maintain media relationships, pitch stories, respond to inquiries, prep SMEs for engagements.
• Monitor effectiveness using data and feedback to improve strategy and execution.
• Support crisis communications planning and response.
• Lead communications for special projects, executive initiatives, and VIP visits.
• Collaborate with operating divisions and site leadership to approve materials.

We are seeking an experienced, strategic Communications Principal to lead high-impact internal and external communications supporting critical aerospace and defense programs. This role offers the opportunity to shape business messaging, influence senior leaders, strengthen employee engagement, and enhance brand reputation across multiple audiences and platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and trusted communications advisor who can translate complex business priorities into clear, compelling messages in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned with business priorities and organizational goals.
• Create compelling internal and external communications content, including press releases, executive talking points, executive memos, website and intranet content, video scripts, advertising copy, social media posts, trade show materials, and presentations.
• Advise senior leaders on messaging, audience engagement, and communications best practices.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to ensure communications are clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with company values and brand standards.
• Build and maintain media relationships, pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, and prepare subject matter experts for media engagements.
• Monitor communications effectiveness and use performance data and feedback to improve strategy and execution.
• Support crisis communications planning and response.
• Lead communications efforts for special projects, executive initiatives, and VIP visits.
• Collaborate with operating divisions, corporate communications teams, and site leadership to develop, coordinate, and approve communications materials.
• Determine the most effective communications approach for assignments and projects, exercising sound judgment and a high degree of independence.
• Remote position. Looking for someone in the AL/VA area but open to anyone in US
