Job summary

Mother Nation, an Indigenous-led nonprofit, is seeking a Communications Manager for a temporary, hybrid or remote role. You will lead content, media relations, and social channels to raise visibility and support the Spirit Journey Healing Village initiatives.

The role reports to the CEO, with opportunities for full-time employment as funding allows. Training, ceremonial leave, and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications role, preferably within a non-profit organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues is highly desirable.
• Passionate about Mother Nation’s mission and values.
• Creative and innovative thinker.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse groups

Responsibilities

• Supervision to communication team members.
• Content Creation: Develop and manage content for social media, newsletters, press releases, and the organization’s website.
• Social Media Management: Oversee and grow Mother Nation’s social media presence, including content scheduling, engagement, and analytics.
• Electronic Newsletter preparation to maintain community, donor and finding networks engaged and share the work of the organization.
• Public Relations: Coordinate media outreach, respond to media inquiries, and build relationships with journalists and influencers.
• Event Promotion: Assist events team in promoting Mother Nation annual and quarterly events.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications align with Mother Nation’s mission, vision, and values and brand.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to support fundraising, advocacy, and program initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Hours: Full-Time, Hybrid or Remote

Salary: $30 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

Mother Nation is an Indigenous led non-profit organization offering culturally informed healing services, mobile advocacy, mentorship, homeless prevention case management, and support to MMIR families' unmet needs. Our services celebrate and inspire the success of Native American women and families. Mother Nation services are custom designed to honor the beauty and strength of Native women and families with traditional practices, teachings and values built on the ancestral strength of each relative. POSITION SUMMARY
