Job summary

NVision Quantum Technologies seeks a Communications Manager - Quantum Science to craft high-quality content around our quantum computing tech and PIQC work. You will translate complex topics into clear, engaging stories for diverse audiences and develop scripts for video, interviews, and editorials.

The role requires scientific background and strong written communication, with the ability to distill complex developments into compelling narratives across formats.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Physics or a closely related scientific field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in content writing, science writing, technical writing, journalism, scientific communications, or a comparable editorial role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and confidently.
• Strong storytelling skills and the ability to identify compelling angles within scientific and technical topics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with scientists and technical experts to uncover relevant insights and stories.
• Excellent research skills and the ability to quickly understand new and highly technical subject matter.
• Ability to adapt writing style, tone, and level of technical detail to different audiences and content formats.
• Fluent written and spoken English. German is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality written content across different formats, including articles, website content, press releases, interviews, thought-leadership pieces, and other editorial materials.
• Work closely with scientists, researchers, and technical experts to understand our technology, research, and ongoing developments and turn their work into compelling stories.
• Identify interesting topics and narratives across our technology, research, partnerships, publications, milestones, and people, rather than simply working from predefined content briefs.
• Have a strong understanding of the quantum technology ecosystem, with the expertise to select and utilize the most impactful distribution channels to reach different audiences.
• Translate complex scientific topics into content that is accurate, accessible, and engaging, adjusting the level of technical detail depending on the audience and format.
• Contribute to the development of video scripts, conduct interviews and background research to develop original content and bring scientific and technical topics to life.
• Stay informed about relevant developments in quantum computing and the wider technology landscape in order to identify timely and meaningful angles for our own content.
• Manage a consistent pipeline of content and ensure that all published materials meet a high standard of quality, accuracy, and clarity.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong scientific background with excellent writing and storytelling skills. You will work closely with our scientists and technical experts to understand complex developments, identify the most compelling stories, and turn them into clear, engaging content for a wide range of audiences. Your profile

• Educational background in Physics or a closely related scientific field is a must have.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in content writing, science writing, technical writing, journalism, scientific communications, or a comparable editorial role. Relevant Master’s or PhD study may be counted towards the required years of experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and confidently.
• Strong storytelling skills and the ability to identify compelling angles within scientific and technical topics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with scientists and technical experts to uncover relevant insights and stories.
• Excellent research skills and the ability to quickly understand new and highly technical subject matter.
• Ability to adapt writing style, tone, and level of technical detail to different audiences and content formats.
• Strong editorial judgment, with a high standard for quality, factual accuracy, and scientific credibility.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple topics, stakeholders, and deadlines in parallel.
• Fluent written and spoken English. German is considered an advantage.
