VAN ETTEN is seeking a Communications Manager in New York to lead press strategy and media relations for fashion and lifestyle clients. You will work with our Senior Communications Manager, manage day-to-day press activity, drafts pitches, and coordinate launches in a fast-moving team.

Located in-office/hybrid, this full-time role offers collaboration with editors and VIPs, shaping coverage and client messaging across a curated roster of luxury brands.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in fashion or lifestyle PR, agency experience preferred.
• Established relationships with fashion, lifestyle, culture media.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-client management.
• A self-starter who thrives in a small, fast-moving team.
• Genuine passion for the fashion and luxury space.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day press and communications strategy for a dedicated roster of clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with editors, journalists, and key media contacts across fashion, lifestyle, and business press.
• Secure and manage press placements, from pitch to publication.
• Draft press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, and client-facing reports.
• Coordinate press moments around launches, collections, and campaigns.
• Manage sample trafficking and press request logistics.
• Support client meetings and calls, presenting coverage results and forward strategy.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the VIP/talent side of the team to ensure aligned client coverage.

We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our editorial team in New York, working alongside our Senior Communications Manager to lead press strategy and media relations for a portfolio of fashion and lifestyle clients.

What You'll Do

• Own day-to-day press and communications strategy for a dedicated roster of clients
