SpaceX is seeking a Communications Manager to own and advance our industrial AI and large-scale compute narrative - helping the broader public, stakeholders, and partners understand what frontier compute infrastructure is, why it matters, and how it benefits the country, our customers, and the communities where it operates.

The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, a can-do attitude, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 12+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, and content development.
• 3+ years of experience leading a team with direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead SpaceXAI communication strategies that explain large-scale compute and industrial AI: what it is, why it matters, and the benefits for the country and communities where facilities operate.
• Create compelling communications materials in support of our efforts to increase awareness and understanding of compute and our position as an industry leader.
• Provide clear and tactical public relations support to internal stakeholders.
• Partner closely with our Government Affairs and national advocacy teams so narrative work stays aligned as industrial and societal value of AI faces local and policy resistance to the infrastructure that powers it.
• Provide clear, tactical public relations and messaging support to internal stakeholders across SpaceXAI and relevant SpaceX partners.
• Monitor narrative risk in national, local, and online media; prioritize issues and recommend communications responses in partnership with Comms, Gov Affairs, and outreach teams.
• Coordinate with site / community outreach teams so on-the-ground execution stays consistent with the enterprise narrative.
• Manage effective communication activities in response to strategic priorities and crisis situations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

SpaceXAI is seeking a Communications Manager to own and advance our industrial AI and large-scale compute narrative - helping the broader public, stakeholders, and partners understand what frontier compute infrastructure is, why it matters, and how it benefits the country, our customers, and the communities where it operates.

The person in this role will build a durable positive case for AI and supercompute (jobs, education, economic growth, national capability, and responsible infrastructure) and partner closely with our Government Affairs and national advocacy teams. Compute access is a core SpaceXAI advantage for customers and for our own AI software product development, and this initiative helps make that advantage clear, credible, and consistently told.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can translate complex technical and infrastructure topics for non-technical audiences without losing accuracy, while building a steady positive signal for the future of supercompute.

RESPONSIBILITIES

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree
• 12+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, and content development
• 3+ years of experience leading a team with direct reports

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated experience owning or shaping narratives for technical infrastructure, energy, utilities, data centers, AI, or similar highly technical domains.
• Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to quickly grasp technical, environmental, and grid-related information and explain it to non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in Spanish, or demonstrated experience delivering community communications in both English and Spanish.
• Impeccable writing skills, with the ability to communicate the same facts to residents, local officials, media, and internal leaders without losing accuracy.
• Deep understanding of social media strategies and tactics, including how local conversations actually start and spread.
• Established skills in strategic and critical thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and relationship-building.
• Ability to quickly grasp and synthesize complex issues.
• Strong project management skills.
• Highly organized, detail oriented and possess a proven ability to thrive under deadline pressure.
• Successful experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented team environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• This role is 100% onsite at our Starbase, TX site and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work
• Regular local travel to other SpaceX locations and surrounding communities
• Valid driver's license
