Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation seeks an OPS Communications Intern in Tallahassee to support the Communications Director and team with office operations and communications strategy. The role involves assisting with external and internal communications materials and special projects to help tell the department’s story.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in a statewide communications office, supporting staff in district offices and contributing to public information

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
• Part-time internship position with a 10–15 hour work week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and organizing various assignments.
• Assist in preparing and distributing external communications materials (social posts, graphics).
• Assist in internal communications materials (newsletters, leadership messages).
• Prepare and disseminate general correspondence (emails, reports, letters, presentations).
• Provide back-up support to other Communications Office staff.
• Other related duties as assigned.
