Public Utility District No. 1 of Chelan County is seeking a Communications Lineman to install and maintain overhead and underground fiber optic systems.
You will perform splicing, operate related equipment, and ensure safety compliance under RCW/WAC requirements, possibly working with or without supervision while supporting fiber optic crews. Responsibilities include installation/splicing, tool management, driving, and general construction tasks.
$46.04 per hour
The Communications Lineman installs and maintains overhead and underground fiber optic systems. Complete assigned work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain general condition of assigned equipment and tools. May be responsible for completing time slips, forms and reports affecting work assignments in a timely manner. May be required to work with or without supervision when not working with fiber optic crews.

This position is designated as safety-sensitive for the purposes of pre-employment testing for illegal drugs (other than marijuana) because the essential functions include operating motorized vehicle, heavy machinery, rotating or heavy equipment, or power machines or tools.
A valid driver's license is required for this position (verified upon hire). A valid Washington State driver's license is required within 30 days of employment. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Washington Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brake restriction removed and current medical card within 180 days of employment. If a CDL is required or is requested by the District on a voluntary basis, the individual will be subject to the applicable federal regulations, which include random drug testing.
