Job summary

The Washtenaw Health Project seeks a communications coordinator to develop materials and messaging about healthcare coverage changes for Washtenaw County residents, and to help staff communicate clearly with clients.

You will lead communications and marketing campaigns, create internal documents, manage website and social media, and support presentations using PowerPoint. Experience in public health communications is preferred, with strong writing and editing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, clinical psychology, or public administration.
• Background in public health, health policy, or other public policy work.
• Experience in professional communications, public relations, or journalism.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, research, and communication skills.
• Experience with website management, social media content marketing, or graphic design.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and proofread communications materials, media, and press releases on healthcare policy and impact to Washtenaw County residents.
• Develop internal materials to inform clients and staff.
• Lead website management, annual reports, marketing, and graphic design tasks; help prepare presentations in Powerpoint.
• Manage social media communication and content marketing, including planning posts and reviewing engagement.

The Washtenaw Health Project connects Washtenaw County residents to health insurance and medical care. We are seeking a communications coordinator to help us develop materials and messaging to communicate changes about healthcare coverage locally, and how to get help. As communications coordinator, you will help develop organizational communication goals, leading communications and marketing campaign, craft messages to inform the public about how healthcare changes may impact them, and develop internal documents so that staff can share clear information with clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and proofread communications materials, media, and press releases on healthcare policy and impact to Washtenaw County residents
• Develop internal materials to inform clients and staff.
• Lead website management, annual reports, marketing, and graphic design tasks; help prepare presentations in Powerpoint.

Experience

• Bachelor's degree including, but not limited to: Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Public Health, Bachelor in Clinical Psychology, Bachelor in Public Administration
