Job description

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and executing all communication and marketing efforts for the DuBard School for Language Disorders. This position leads the creation of high-quality print and digital media, including graphic design, photography, video, and written communications, to promote the school's mission, programs, and services. The Communications Coordinator manages the school’s internal and external communications, digital presence, branding, and outreach initiatives, collaborating with university partners and school leadership to increase visibility, engagement, and community support.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, and produce high-quality printed and digital materials, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, advertisements, social media content, presentations, signage, photography, and video that promote the mission and programs of the DuBard School.
  • Plan and manage all internal and external communications for the DuBard School, ensuring consistent messaging, tone, and branding across publications, email campaigns, website content, and digital platforms.
  • Oversee the school’s website, social media platforms, and other digital communication channels; create and schedule content; monitor engagement; and evaluate communication effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Professional Development, Research, Development, and other stakeholders to gather data, develop marketing strategies, promote programs and services, support fundraising and recruitment efforts, and increase community awareness.
  • Develop concepts for and provide communications support for events, campaigns, professional development programs, and community outreach initiatives that increase visibility, participation, and revenue.
  • Work in partnership with University Communications to ensure all materials comply with university branding standards; assist in developing media content and securing local and national coverage for the DuBard School; and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public relations, communications, or a related field; and one (1) year experience in the field of public relations or communications at a university, non-profit organization, or other comparable organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
  • Ability to effectively design and produce graphic design, video and photography, and marketing materials.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and discretion when interacting with confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of social media.
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Knowledge of computers and software (such as PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications

Graphic design, photography, and videography skills; media relations and crisis communications experience; knowledge of four-step process marketing plans.
