Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD seeks a Communications Electronic Warfare Engineer to characterize communication systems, develop countermeasures, and evaluate behavior in contested environments using modeling, simulation, and test.

You will collaborate with engineers and scientists to plan events, analyze data, communicate findings to sponsors, and turn results into actionable recommendations while pursuing interim Secret and eventual TS/SCI clearances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
  • At least three years of relevant experience with communications, RF, electronic warfare systems, or related activities.
  • Familiar with signals and systems or DSP concepts; MATLAB/Python experience.
  • Ability to obtain interim Secret clearance and eventual TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess communication systems using analysis, modeling, simulation, and test, focusing on electronic-warfare-relevant applications.
  • Contribute to system analyses by developing algorithms and techniques for electronic countermeasures.
  • Apply communications theory, signal processing, and numerical tools to understand system behavior and evaluate trade-offs.
  • Communicate findings clearly to sponsors and teammates with practical recommendations.
