Job summary

Cash Construction, a division of MasTec, seeks an entry-level construction laborer to perform physical work at project sites, assisting crews with sewer, water, and storm drain installations. You will help with grade checking, compacting, and shoveling, while following safety policies.

Responsibilities include traffic control, site cleanup, material handling, measurement and marking, trenching, backfilling, and operating pumps or generators as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of work experience in construction or related field.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position (sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights and in all weather).

• Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zone.
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Load, unload, or identify building materials, or tools, distributing them to locations per plans.
• Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where work will be performed.
• Manual dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specs.
• Tend to pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools or materials.
• Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow the company's safety policies and procedures.

• Load, unload, or identify building materials, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
• Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
• Manual dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using a variety of power and hand tools.
• Tend to pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as dirt, gravel and asphalt.
• Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures as described in the company's safety manual.
