Elevate Aircraft Seating in Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a Manager Commodity to lead procurement for composites, plastics, electronics, actuation and machined parts. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or supply chain management is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years in supply chain purchasing for aerospace interiors is expected.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Manager Commodity to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA. This is a hybrid position based in Huntington Beach, CA. We value teamwork, inclusivity, and continuous professional development, and we offer competitive benefits along with opportunities for growth.


Hybrid Work Arrangement:

This role is designated as hybrid; however, candidates should anticipate working onsite full-time during the initial onboarding and ramp-up period. Following successful integration into the role, a hybrid schedule will be available based on performance, business needs, and team requirements. Regular onsite attendance is required for customer meetings, testing, and key business activities.


JOB SUMMARY

The Manager Commodity is responsible for all commodities including composites, plastics, electronics, actuation, and machined parts. This position develops, leads, and manages a procurement strategy for the Huntington Beach business unit, in harmonization with global Elevate Aircraft Seating site strategies.

  • Oversee supplier selection, negotiates pricing, and establish long‑term contracts

  • Identify and monitor supplier financial health, delivery and quality performance, shared company‑owned tooling, and optimize part transportation costs

  • Conduct market analyses that contribute to an optimal selection of strategic suppliers

  • Assess supplier capability and capacity

  • Develop a supplier network of on‑time delivery performance

  • Provide support to site buyers / procurement specialists, as needed

  • Prepare status reports and creates supplier Key Performance Indicators

  • Cooperate with people of different levels inside and outside the company, interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives on a very high level

  • Express information in a manner appropriate to different levels of people and to lead negotiations on a high level

  • Recognize and respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency and increase expectations on a high level

  • Work to achieve the highest delivered quality at the lowest possible cost, support company Program targets

  • Take actions and decisions to generate ideas, products, processes in promised timely manner; involved in designs and work requiring creative imagination on a high level

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineer, Business or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience is required

  • Master’s Degree is preferred


Experience:


  • 5+ years supply chain experience as a supply chain buyer, preferably in aircraft interiors knowledge

  • 3+ years’ experience in writing and negotiating supplier long term contracts

  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102 and Boeing & Airbus commercial aircraft contract requirements


Skills:


  • Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus specifications for aircraft seat systems

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of EASA and FAA for aircraft seat systems

  • Proficient in MRP systems and Inventory Management


Other:


  • Extended or irregular hours may be required.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Will be asked to travel globally to source and secure supply chain suppliers

  • Often asked to travel on short notice

  • Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and craftsmanship and measured based upon how well tasks have been completed. Receives detailed instructions as needed

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Elevate Aircraft Seating offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.


Salary Range Transparency:

$120,000 - $135,000 annually
