Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Commodity Manager for HR, Marketing, and Professional Services in Bellevue, WA. You will partner with internal stakeholders, lead strategic sourcing events, and manage supplier relationships to drive value and reduce total cost of ownership across professional services spend.

The role requires strong negotiation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Finance, and IT.

Qualifications

  • 5 years professional work experience that includes a minimum of 3 years of Purchasing, large service contract negotiations, or related experience
  • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate supplier pricing, contract terms, delivery timelines, and service agreements while balancing cost, quality, risk, and business needs
  • Flexible and proactive team leader with the ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks concurrently
  • Demonstrated examples of medium to large scale Project Management experience
  • Product knowledge of services and benefits-related products desired
  • Strong Team Player with excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation

Responsibilities

  • Lead Purchasing activities for assigned Professional Services categories, serving as the primary procurement representative and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Develop and execute category management, sourcing, and supplier strategies that align with business objectives, optimize total cost of ownership, and mitigate supply and contractual risks.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements, develop sourcing plans, establish negotiation strategies, and execute strategic sourcing events in accordance with project timelines and organizational goals.
  • Identify, assess, and select Professional Services suppliers based on capability, quality, service, innovation, financial stability, and overall value to the organization.
  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers supporting multiple manufacturing facilities and business functions, ensuring high levels of performance, service, compliance, and cost competitiveness.
  • Lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing structures, service level agreements (SLAs), and other contract terms while minimizing business risk.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) practices, strategic supplier segmentation, performance reviews, and supplier rationalization initiatives.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement through the development and management of key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), scorecards, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Operations, IT, HR, and other functional teams to ensure contractual compliance, governance, and alignment with corporate policies and objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing projects from requirements gathering through supplier selection, contract execution, implementation, and ongoing supplier management.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline procurement processes, improve efficiency, eliminate non-value-added activities, and enhance stakeholder and supplier experiences.
  • Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, cost drivers, and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation, cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvement.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and other sourcing documentation; evaluate supplier proposals using structured sourcing and decision-making methodologies.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, recommendations, and business cases to leadership, stakeholders, and executive management regarding sourcing strategies, supplier performance, contract negotiations, and procurement initiatives.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with suppliers, business partners, manufacturing plants, divisions, and corporate leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Support organizational objectives by driving cost reduction, value creation, supplier diversity, risk management, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement across Professional Services spend categories.

Requisition Summary

As a Commodity Manager HR, Marketing, and Professional Services, this individual will be responsible for partnering with and supporting internal business units, functional groups, and associated stakeholders, while executing on strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management initiatives. Categories include but will not be limited to the following services: HR, recruiting, marketing, cafeteria services, standard dress, and uniformed security. This position will be responsible for managing PACCAR’s commercial relationship with professional services and benefits providers, and driving commercial strategies to control costs and mitigate risk.The ideal candidate will be a proven change agent in the field of Purchasing and large service contract management, focused on delivering the highest value of products and services to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
