Job summary

Moss Energy seeks a skilled Commissioning Technician to support startup and energization of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across multiple states. The role requires executing commissioning activities for electrical systems, including inverters and power distribution equipment, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning electrical systems in solar, BESS, or utility/industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing methods and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control logic.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and field execution experience.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters and power distribution equipment.
• Execute NETA-based testing (Megger insulation resistance), VOC Testing, VLF, TTR to validate system performance and integrity.
• Support system startup, energization, and troubleshooting of AC and DC components on solar and BESS projects.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams to verify installation and resolve field issues.
• Coordinate with construction, and SCADA teams to ensure proper system integration and communication.
• Document commissioning activities, test results, and turnover packages in accordance with project and industry standards.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes, and site requirements.
• Implement, control and execute energy isolation procedures (LOTO).
